β Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the age relaxation policy for this UPPSC Teaching Recruitment?
UPPSC provides age relaxation for various reserved categories as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules. Typically, candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories of Uttar Pradesh domicile may receive an age relaxation of 5 years. Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Ex-Servicemen also have specific relaxations. Women candidates are generally eligible for certain relaxations depending on the post. It's crucial to refer to the official detailed notification (Advertisement No. UPPSC/Lecturer/Asst.Teacher/2026-01) for the precise and updated age relaxation rules applicable to each category and post. Ensure you have valid caste/domicile certificates issued by the competent authority to claim these benefits.
Is the TET/CTET qualification mandatory for all posts in this recruitment?
The TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) or CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) qualification is specifically mentioned as mandatory for Assistant Teacher posts. For Lecturer posts, while a B.Ed. or equivalent is required, the requirement for TET/CTET might vary and is generally less common compared to primary/upper primary teacher roles. However, candidates are strongly advised to meticulously check the official notification for each specific post they intend to apply for, as the eligibility criteria can differ based on the subject and the type of institution (e.g., government inter college vs. aided schools). Always rely on the latest official advertisement for definitive information.
Can candidates from other states apply for these UPPSC teaching vacancies?
Yes, candidates from other Indian states are generally eligible to apply for UPPSC teaching vacancies. However, it's important to note that they will be treated as General Category candidates, irrespective of their caste category in their home state. This means they will not be able to avail any reservation benefits (like age relaxation or reserved vacancies) applicable to SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates who are domiciled in Uttar Pradesh. They must fulfill all the general eligibility criteria, including age limits and educational qualifications, without any relaxations. It is advisable for non-UP domicile candidates to thoroughly review the specific clauses related to domicile and reservation in the official notification before applying.
