What is the eligibility criteria for UPSC CSE 2026?
A candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Final year students are also eligible to apply provisionally.
Is there any age relaxation for reserved categories?
Yes, age relaxation is provided as per government rules for OBC (3 years), SC/ST (5 years), Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) (10 years), and Ex-servicemen.
Can I apply for the exam if my final year results are awaited?
Yes, candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results can apply, provided they produce proof of passing by the date of the Main Examination.
What is the syllabus for the Preliminary Examination?
The Prelims consist of two papers: General Studies Paper-I (GS-I) covering current events, history, geography, polity, economy, environment, and science; and General Studies Paper-II (CSAT) which is a qualifying paper covering comprehension, logical reasoning, analytical ability, decision-making, and basic numeracy.
