What services are recruited through the Civil Services Examination?
The CSE recruits for various Group 'A' services like IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, IDAS, IRTS, and Group 'B' services like DANICS, DANIPS, Pondicherry Civil Service, etc.
Can a final year student apply for UPSC CSE?
Yes, candidates appearing for their final year degree examination can apply, provided they produce proof of passing the examination along with the application for the Main Examination.
Is there an age relaxation for reserved categories?
Yes, there is an age relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. PwBD candidates also receive age relaxation as per government rules.
What is the structure of the Preliminary Examination?
The Preliminary Examination consists of two objective-type papers (General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II, also known as CSAT) of 200 marks each. CSAT is a qualifying paper with a minimum of 33% marks required.
