### How to Apply
1. **Registration (One-Time):** If you're a new user on the SSC portal, you'll first need to complete a One-Time Registration (OTR). Visit `ssc.gov.in` and click on 'Register Now'. You'll need to provide basic details like Aadhaar number (or other ID), name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, education board, roll number, year of passing, gender, mobile number, and email ID. Create a strong password. You'll receive an OTP on your mobile and email to verify your details. Once registered, keep your Registration Number and Password safe.
2. **Login:** Existing users can simply log in with their Registration Number and Password.
3. **Find the Application Link:** After logging in, navigate to the 'Latest Notifications' section. Locate the "Central Secretariat Assistant Examination 2026" notification and click on the 'Apply' link.
4. **Fill the Application Form:** Your pre-filled details from OTR will appear. Carefully review them. You will then need to fill in specific details related to the examination, such as your preferred examination centers (three choices), post preferences (if applicable), and any other relevant information. Double-check for accuracy.
5. **Upload Documents:** Upload your scanned passport-size photograph, signature, and Left/Right Thumb Impression as per the specified dimensions and file size. The photograph should be recent (not older than three months), clear, and without spectacles or caps. Ensure the background is light.
6. **Fee Payment:** Proceed to pay the application fee online using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa/Mastercard/Maestro Credit/Debit cards. SC/ST/PwBD candidates and all women candidates are exempted from fee payment.
7. **Review and Submit:** Before final submission, thoroughly review all the information filled in the application form. Make any necessary corrections. Once satisfied, click on the 'Final Submit' button.
8. **Print Application:** After successful submission, a confirmation page will be displayed. It is highly recommended to download and print a copy of your submitted application form for your records. Do not wait until the last minute to apply to avoid potential technical glitches.
### Detailed Exam Syllabus
The SSC Central Secretariat Assistant (CSA) Examination 2026 will typically consist of two Tiers, both being Computer Based Examinations (CBE).
**Tier-I: Computer Based Examination (CBE)**
* **Format:** Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions. Negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer.

1. **General Intelligence & Reasoning:** (25 Questions, 50 Marks) - Analogies, Similarities and Differences, Space Visualization, Spatial Orientation, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning and Figural Classification, Arithmetical Number Series, Non-verbal series, Coding and Decoding, Statement Conclusion.
2. **General Awareness:** (25 Questions, 50 Marks) - Questions designed to test the candidateβs general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. Also to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience as may be expected of an educated person. Questions will also be asked from India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.
3. **Quantitative Aptitude:** (25 Questions, 50 Marks) - Whole numbers, Decimals, Fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time & distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary Surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric Ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary Angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.
4. **English Comprehension:** (25 Questions, 50 Marks) - Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One Word Substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect Narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a Passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.
**Tier-II: Computer Based Examination (CBE)**
* Specific details for Tier-II subjects will be announced with the official detailed notification but typically include advanced sections of Quantitative Abilities, English Language and Comprehension, Statistics, and General Studies (Finance & Economics) for higher-level posts. For Assistant level, it might focus more on advanced English and Quantitative Aptitude.
