โ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Who is eligible to apply for RPF Constable & SI Recruitment 2026?
For the Constable post, candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Standard) from a recognized board. For the Sub-Inspector (SI) post, a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university is mandatory. Age limits are generally between 18-28 years for Constable and 20-28 years for SI, with relaxations for reserved categories as per government norms.
What is the application fee for this recruitment?
The application fee for General and OBC candidates is โน500. However, a reduced fee of โน250 is applicable for SC/ST, Ex-servicemen, Female, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes (EBC) candidates. It's important to note that a portion of the fee for certain categories might be refundable upon appearing in the CBT.
Is there any negative marking in the CBT exam?
Yes, there is a negative marking scheme in the Computer-Based Test (CBT). For every incorrect answer, 1/3rd of the marks allotted for that question will be deducted. So, candidates are advised to attempt questions carefully and avoid blind guessing.
What does the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT) involve?
The PET involves various physical tasks like running (e.g., 1600 meters, 800 meters), long jump, and high jump, with different requirements for male and female candidates and for Constable/SI posts. The PMT measures physical attributes like height and chest (for males), ensuring candidates meet the minimum specified standards set by RPF.
How can I prepare effectively for the RPF exam?
Effective preparation involves a multi-pronged approach: thorough understanding of the syllabus, consistent practice of Arithmetic and Reasoning, solving previous year's question papers, taking regular mock tests to improve speed and accuracy, and maintaining physical fitness for the PET/PMT. Referencing standard study materials and current affairs magazines will also be highly beneficial.
